Website www.dasarts.nl
The DasArts.nl website combines
innovation, system and user-fr
iendliness. Its colour-coded ma
in windows and sub windows sche
me is a reference to scenograph
ic blocking on a theatre stage,
but also to archive and card c
atalogue systems. Playing with
these windows turns navigation
into choreography and movement.
Navigation within the website h
as been kept as flexible as pos
sible, so that you can choose h
ow you want to access the infor
mation. There are three basic w
ays to navigate:
1. The eight main windows are a
general source of information.
Clicking within each of them r
eveals sub windows with further
information. Clicking in the b
lack area outside a window will
take you back to the previous
level.
2. A succession of verbal links
to the contents of the website
, the so-called ‘bread crumbs’.
Clicking on the words in this
index gives you access to the i
nformation you desire.
3. A ground plan of coloured li
nes at the top of the screen sh
ows the spatial positioning of
all the main windows in the ‘pl
aying field’. Clicking on the l
ines makes the information visi
ble.
When the cursor symbol changes
from a finger into a hand, you
can move the windows around. Th
is movement generates a sound s
pecifically composed for each c
hapter. Clicking on the text ba
r at the bottom of the screen g
ives you information about the
most recent activities at DasAr
ts.
